Fireworks

(A poem for a crush)

As I linger into the hallway of darkness and chaos

I saw an unstoppable light glowed from afar

Like a shimmering diamond

I went near, tried to touch it, but I couldn't

So I just stared at you.

As the light came slowly bursting out

It brought a sudden warmth inside me

I couldn't describe the feeling it gave me

But I am sure it felt good

So I stared more at you.

As it exploded loudly into the skies

It wakened my heart entangled with hatred

As it split up into tidbits

My blood came rushing in excitement

Anticipating the surprise you would show me

A smile came to my face

A smile like the first time I had when I was a kid.

As your lights slowly travelled

Like a rocket shooting in the sky

How you make my eyes go fixated steadily

On your gentle mesmerizing movement

I didn't think in the first place that there was you…

As your lights splattered above

It was like a rain of shimmering lights

Making trees visible in the park

The lake reflected your irresistible beauty.

I didn't feel alone anymore

I felt safe, safe in the darkness

As your light rained in the vast skies

Slowly dripping down like a paint splattered on the wall

I wanted to hold it, feel it in my hands

So I reached for you, but I couldn't.

As you gradually vanished

Like a glowing firefly in the darkness

I felt frightened…

That you will never come back

I don't want to be alone again.

I wish you'd be coming back soon.

And when you came back

Please hold me…hold me

We'll dance in the skies together

And I'll vanish together with you
